April 05 Editor's Notes...Thanks to Meadow Lark for her midweek submission that is posted right below this note!
It seems there are a few die-hards who are still reading and commenting but that overall interest is waning. Please comment to me as to any ideas you may have to promote this site and/or get more people interested in submitting stories.
I love having this outlet for myself to do non-ZwebbyVille Stories so I would never shut it down or anything like that, but we really need more submissions to keep the interest up.
All ideas are welcome!!
Russ
March 15 Editors Notes...First of all, I apologize to everyone. Things on my other site have gotten rather busy as of late and I haven't been able to pay as much attention to this site. Hopefully things will slow down a little!
Secondly, I posted the new Weekend Project Theme. It might be a tough one but I can't wait to see what you guys do with it!
Happy Writing!!
March 05 Editor's Notes...Hello all!
We seem to be having problems with the comments on certain entries. If you have a problem seeing the comments, click the blog tab above and you should be able to read/leave comments there.
Due to my travel schedule, the entries for this weeks project will be posted very late tonight so keep checking if you don't see them.
Thanks for the submissions!
February 24 Editor's notes...I guess it's a little pretentious to call myself 'editor' because everyone has been so good. Perhaps I should change it to 'Host'...
Thanks again everyone for a great week here. Lots of good stuff posted this week!
I have only recieved three entries so far for this weekends project. I hope some of you are just procrastinating.
Please comment or email me at rgh20@hotmail.com and let me know what direction you would like this site to take. Are you happy with current format? Any changes or suggestions? I know I have had a blast so far and hope you all have too. This site is getting on average 150 page views a day which seems very good to me considering it's only about 12 days old. I hope that means everyone is enjoying it!
I would like for all of you to do me a favor next week. Each of you have a blog buddy or maybe just an aquaintance that you know would be good at this. If each of us brings one new writer to the site next week we'll get even more good stuff on here (sound like I'm in Amway, huh). I would like to see about 20 writers who submit regularly within the next couple of months.
Feedback people, I need feedback...
Russ February 21 Editor's Notes...We have had six stories posted since 10 PM last night! That's awesome!! All by first time posters (is posters the right word? Are you all a bunch of wall-hangings?) Thanks everyone!
Hopefully you have seen the next Weekend Project up above. It's probably a little harder but should have more ways to go with it.
I am having a lot of fun with this site and hope you all are too. Feel free to leave any suggestions on how I can make it better!
Russ
p.s. Like the new look? Or is it not dark enough? February 17 Weekend ProjectOK Everyone. So far I am very pleased with the stories that have been submitted.
I think it's time for a little mini-project. No winners, no losers. This is not a contest. Just a little fun.
Between now and 7 PM Sunday, anyone who wants to participate is to submit a 1 Page Story that begins with the following first sentence;
"The phone rang at 4:15."
Do not add to or change the first sentence, but from there you can go anywhere you want.
Submit your entry to me at rgh20@hotmail.com by 7 PM Sunday and by Monday morning I will post all entries.
Again, this is no a contest, just a fun way to compare the ways all of our minds work.
Have a great weekend!
Russ February 12 Editors Note...I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the response so far to 1 Page Stories!
We have numerous readers (This blog has more hits the last two days than ZwebbyVille does!) and quite a few who have promised me they will submit a story.
Just to remind everyone, as you can tell from the current stories, the subject matter can be just about anything. I would like to see some non-fictional stories as well. So open your Word Program and start typing!!
Please use Verdana 10 point font and submit to my email rgh20@hotmail.com Also, please tell me if you want your submission to have comments allowed or disallowed. With comments will also come critiques, so be prepared to have some good critiques and possibly some bad ones. I personally love to be critiqued to improve my writing. But if you would rather submit a story just for our enjoyment just tell me to disallow comments.
I would like to get to where we are posting two or three stories a day. I have some ideas for contests and other fun stuff once we really get rolling.
Thanks everyone for your support so far!
Russ (Zman)
p.s. If you wouldn't mind doing a little marketing for me by adding a link on your site, I would appreciate it! February 10 Format to Submit StoriesPlease submit stories to Zman (rgh20@hotmail.com) in the following format;
No attachments will be accepted! You must Copy & Paste into an email. I will not open any attachments!
To ensure uniformity, Use Microsoft Word, 10 point Verdana font. All stories must be one page in length using Print Layout in Word.
Submit the following:
Stories can be any subject matter.
Do NOT submit stories of an adult or lewd nature
This can be a fun way to showcase some of our writing and challenge our skills at the same time.
