February 23 One for the booksWho says Valentine's Day needs to be spent lugging around a dozen roses and 16 red and pink mylar balloons?! An over-priced meal? Chocolates for miles? Diamonds - Well, I wouldn't complain about Diamonds.
Tonight has turned out to be one of the most special "Valentine's Days" I spent in all my time on the planet.
I had no expectations. Hence, no disappointments. It was just me and, well, it was just Tuesday, right?
After my work-out, while viewing my beloved Dr. Phil taped this afternoon as I slaved away at my desk, I grabbed the last bottle of Ecco Domani Merlot camped out in the pantry, gazed at the bottle for a moment and proclaimed, out loud, "Hello friend". I proceeded to let the bottle air before pouring that first spectacular glass (first has a meaning here) and got out of my work-out clothes in order to relax a bit. On one of my passes by the glass door that faces to the east - you know the one, the one off the balcony from which I have captured the most beautiful sunrises - I noticed a glow behind Black Mountain. Could it be? Is it? It's got to be the moon. I poured my glass and parked myself on my balcony in the beautful night air and was mesmerized by the sight. I thanked Mother Nature, again - out loud, for blessing me with the privilege of beholding this big beautiful yellow-tinged sphere rising from behind the mountain. I took a deep breath and took a couple sips from my over-sized wine goblet.
I enjoyed every second of it. He rose slowly and most magnificently allowing me to appreciate every move he made. He was tender and easy. He gave me time to enjoy every inch of his bountiful beauty. He hung there for a moment to let me feel every single heart-pounding gift he had to offer. He was the moon and I was the stars. I took him in until he rose to his complete and final height of brilliance. We came together in a wonderful pit of emotion and clarity. He was mine and I was his - for this night.
Hope yours was as satisfying as mine~
